I'm back in San Francisco so I brought some old friends to hike and shoot the redwood trees in Muir Woods. We ended up hiking straight into Mt. Tamalpais State Park, up through a muddy wooded trail that went on forever.
The fallen tree pictured is a huge 400-year-old redwood that fell on Friday directly onto the main trail. According to the park ranger, they won't move it at all, just cut out a path through it to accommodate the trail. So cool.
We got lucky and missed the rain completely; it stopped as soon as we entered the park, and started again when we got back to SF.
Shot with 5D, 16-35 and 15mm fisheye.
