I spent the past week in El Salvador in the town of Amatitán, photograhing the local townspeople. In 1982 a government-led massacre took place in the town, taking the lives of 200 Salvadoreans. The town was abandoned, and people did not return until 10 years later. The people of Amatitán have an amazing story of rebuilding, one that truly demonstrates the resilience and pride of their culture. Check out my photo series here.
